Dear all,

You can have such working hours as per company policy, but generally, people are more comfortable with a half-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks for tea or coffee. You can make a decision on this. Please also post the notice on the notice board.

What about smoking breaks? How do you quantify those?

Hi,

If the employee stretches and works beyond office hours due to work requirements, smoking breaks can be entertained. However, if employees are going in a group for smoking and wasting time chatting, the same should be monitored and restricted.

My suggestion is one break in the morning and one in the evening, each lasting 5-10 minutes, would be ideal, provided the employee completes the work even after office hours.

If you have a Door Access Control System, you can assess the actual break times.

In the best interest of the employees' health, you may plan for an awareness program on the dangers of smoking.
