I have been working in sales coordination and telemarketing for the past 3 years and am currently pursuing an MBA in HR. Can you please suggest how to start a career in HR and how to specialize in areas like HRD and training?

First, you need to know what HR is and its functions, and how it works. Since you are in HR, you need to complete your studies first and be present, as you are already on this site. Try to learn and read the threads, go through the conversations/discussions on HR, including functions like Salary/Wages Calculation, Bonus, ESIC, EPF, Labor Law, Recruitment, and so on. Make regular searches and learn through the internet. This will help you understand HR and its functions.
The second phase is to understand the Recruitment and Training functions. You don't have to rush, as learning processes cannot be achieved quickly; they require instant and proper attention and concentration. Take it step by step. Eventually, you will realize that you have gained more knowledge and know how to achieve your goals.

The solution is: if you have a strong knowledge of Human Resource Management and its functions, and are familiar with this field and its important factors, you can apply for a similar position even as a fresher. This will give you a start at least, and with some experience, you can progress further.
Another option is to first ask yourself whether you really want to pursue a career in HR, if you have a strong interest in this field, and why you want to join HR, knowing that the salary may not be as high as your current position.
