I am an MBA fresher. A few days back, I joined a manufacturing firm. They do not have a proper HR department, so my boss assigned me my first task - to set up an HR policy and manual for the company. However, I am really struggling to get a start or understand how to proceed. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out as soon as possible.

I am very glad for your replying to me so soon. Thanks a lot for that; yes, that is useful information for me. However, I want to know one more thing - should I proceed with the same approach for preparing the HR manual? There are very general policies that are enforced by the government, and no HR activities like performance management, training and development, and even the roles and responsibilities of employees are well defined. Please tell me how I should proceed now.

Hi, I have newly joined a company that makes cartridges, and I need to collect information or write a thesis about a raw material called OPC drum. As we are going to purchase it, I should know what parameters a good OPC is measured against and how it can be damaged (precautions to be taken while handling). I am unable to find enough information. If somebody is in this field, please guide me. Thank you.

Hi Narendra,
I had started with existing policies in the company and am trying to implement them properly. Your information is really helpful to me and many other people. I truly appreciate your assistance in helping others.
In this organization, no one knows about their job description, and everyone does every possible job. No one is clear about their work, the company's mission, vision, and goals, making employee retention very challenging. I have observed a lack of trust between employees and the CEO, and vice versa.
Implementing the guidelines you have provided will take some time. Could you suggest additional strategies? My superior has instructed me to focus solely on the HR manual.
Thank you.
