Hi Himanshu,

The LWF is applicable to all the members of the organization except the Management staff (staff having the authority to sign on the cheque/official documents on behalf of the organization).

Employee contribution is Rs. 3.00, and the employer contribution is Rs. 6.00, totaling Rs. 9.00, deposited to the LWF office. It is a half-yearly contribution made in June and December.

Hi Jitendra,

Actually, I want to know about the Haryana Labour Welfare Fund, which, as far as I understand, is Rs 15 (Rs 10 as the employer's part and Rs 5 as the employee's part). The thing I need to confirm is the way of filing returns, depositing funds, and any other criteria, if any.

Thanks,
Himanshu Sikka

Dear Vidya,

Every state has its own Act and Rules. The contribution period and amount may differ from state to state. You should review your state's Labour Welfare Fund Act and Rules to understand the definition of an employee, contribution period, the rate of contribution to be deducted, the method of depositing the amount, the format for submitting the details of contributions, if any, and to whom and when it should be submitted.

Hello, Sir,

Presently, we are deducting Rs. 1.00 from employees (ALL EMPLOYEES), and Rs. 2.00 of the employer's part is deposited to Dy. Directors. Sir, is it wrong? Please send me any notification issued by the labor department for the revision of LWF Rate.

Dear Member,

Welcome to CiteHR.

State Labour Welfare Boards are constituted in accordance with the provisions as laid down under the State LWF Act. These Boards run a number of welfare schemes for the benefit of workers keeping in view the fund available with them. So, first, see which of the State Acts is applicable in your case, then approach the concerning offices to know the benefits declared by the Board for workers.

With Regards,

In the state of Haryana, we do not find any wage ceiling for deducting Labour Welfare Fund Contribution from the employees. Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, as applicable to the state of Haryana, does not require any registration.

We are required to deposit Labour Welfare Fund Contribution of both employees and employers for the period from December to November by 31st December, but there is a grace period of one month. Thus, we can deposit this amount by 31st January without any penalty.
