Dear Seniors,
My name is Shimit P. Mathur, and I am working as a Management Trainee in Human Resource at a recruitment industry firm. I am a part of the corporate HR team, which is also known as the internal HR team. I am involved in various aspects of Human Resource Management.
One aspect that I have not yet encountered is "Industrial Relations." I am keen on gaining knowledge about Industrial Relations or Employee Relations and understanding the HR policies in a manufacturing industry.
I kindly request you, seniors, to assist me in understanding the topics covered under "Industrial Relations" or "Employee Relations." While I acknowledge that information is available online, I am interested in practical knowledge rather than theoretical concepts in Industrial HR.
It would be a valuable experience for me if you could explain the aspects of Industrial Relations.
Thanks and Regards,
Shimit P. Mathur

Dear Shimit,
With my limited knowledge, I feel that Industrial Relations is not an area where you can simply apply theoretical knowledge to maintain good or harmonious employee relations in the industry. It requires your common sense in uncommon situations to handle the complexities that arise. Your past strategies may not always be effective as the approach needed can vary depending on the individual capacity of the IR officer and the unique circumstances at play. No theory can provide a standard operating procedure for maintaining good industrial relations.
Furthermore, it is important to note that we cannot simply benchmark or replicate one industry's practices in another.

Dear friend,
IR is a vast subject that requires around 20 hours of serious study. Even though we can provide you with general information, I recommend getting a copy of "Industrial Relations" by Mr. Monappa from IIM Ahmedabad, which is a small, good, and useful book.
Blessings,

Thank you very much, sir. However, the thing is that I am just looking for the topics that are included in the subject of Industrial Relations. I know it's a very practical subject, but my idea is that unless I have theoretical knowledge, no manufacturing industry will give me a chance to gain practical knowledge or an opportunity to work with them. Seniors, please help me out with that!

Dear All,
My name is Ashish, working in a manufacturing industry as an HR Generalist with 5 years of experience. I have worked with a manufacturing company that produces parts for the automobile industry. I have received various HR training sessions from the automobile sector. My role involved handling training and development, skill mapping, performance management system (PMS), employee engagement, rewards, and recognition, among other responsibilities. However, I lack exposure in industrial relations (IR), compliance, payroll, social audits, etc., which is limiting my job prospects. I try to enhance my knowledge through reading books and texts, but I lack practical experience in these areas.
Due to this, my confidence level is decreasing. I am seeking guidance on how to gain practical knowledge in IR, Compliance, and Audits since my current role does not involve these aspects, and I have been unable to secure opportunities elsewhere due to my limited knowledge.
My WhatsApp number is 9558990739. Please assist me.
Thank you.
