Dear All,
We have a small premise in Noida with fire extinguishers as a fire safety measure. Previously, we received a yearly certificate from the Fire Department regarding the testing and serviceability of the extinguishers. However, this time they have informed us that they will not be conducting any testing; only the fire NOC will be renewed, which is typically done once during the building construction phase.
We have Ceasefire cylinders with a five-year warranty. Are we obligated to obtain a fire extinguisher testing certificate under any Shop and Establishment clause?

Dear Ravindra,
You never required a testing certificate from the Fire Department. Testing and maintenance can be done by any fireman. Periodic maintenance of fire extinguishers is required depending upon the type of extinguishers, such as monthly visual inspection, quarterly maintenance, and hydrostatic testing every three years.
Warranty is totally different. You don't need a certificate, but yes, you need to have the records of maintenance and testing with you.
Check if an NOC is required each year.
