Hi Friends,

I am working in a software organization for the past 5.4 years. It is a small company in Chennai with 20-25 members. I need to know whether I am eligible for gratuity. If I am eligible for it, how can I claim it? Are there any form-filling procedures from the Government of India available?

If any other details are needed to answer the above question, please let me know.

Thanks,
Gokul

Hi Gokul,

As far as I know, gratuity can be claimed once you leave the job. I am not very sure if the same can be availed while you are in the same company because I have worked in a company and I got my gratuity only when I left the job. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me; that will increase my knowledge as well.

Thanks,
Simran

Dear Gokul,

As far as I know, gratuity can be withdrawn at the time of leaving a job. Every employee is eligible for gratuity upon completing five years of service in one company only. You can withdraw it by filling up the form (N).

Thanks & Regards,
Vivek
