Dear ratz,

Kindly specify the team. As far as my knowledge goes, HDFC's major share of business is coming through the Direct Sales team. Direct Sales has more than 1500 contractual employees who make this happen. However, getting salary or F&F settlement is not that easy for them, as I too worked with them as a CSE.

I should say these practices are not uniformly followed in all branches of HDFC Bank. Being an HR professional, it really feels good to know that such HR practices are actually being followed by organizations. My husband is in HDFC Bank too (North India), and we got married this year itself. Because of HDFC, we have no personal life. You have mentioned about 14 days of compulsory leave twice a year; he hasn't been able to get even one peaceful day off throughout this financial year. Even while on sick leave once, he was asked to come to the office by his boss. Saturdays are supposed to be half days, but sometimes become 12-hour working days. Many things are written in policies but not followed. Sometimes the treatment of the whole team seems inhumane.

Yes, Sonalduhra, you are absolutely right. These policies are impressive in the presentation only. I know how you feel, and I have also heard a lot about such ill-treatment by this organization lately. In fact, every financial sector firm is the same; as long as they make a profit, they care, but when you fail to achieve the targets even by a whisker, they dump you.

The worst bank to deal with. I don't believe your people are well-trained. The most uncultured bank employees. I have complained about that to your call center as well. Please refrain from false propaganda of your company.

Is there anything employees of such organizations can do when they are not given their rights according to the company policies? They don't speak up just thinking that the company will spoil their whole career.

Hi,

I was keeping quiet because I learned that telling something bad about an old employer is not good. However, upon seeing the progress of this discussion, I would like to add another point. Each state will have more than 1500 contractual staff for direct sales for HDFC. They do not provide any maternity leave even if the employee has completed 2 years of service with the bank. Is it not applicable to contractual staff when the staff is receiving salary and PF from the direct corporate office in Mumbai?
