Hi Friends,

I would need your eye on recruitments in Singapore. What kind of challenges do we face in Singapore? What skills are more in demand? What does the demand-supply situation indicate in Singapore?

Appreciate your guidance and time.

Regards,
Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Singapore clientele mainly consists of banking, financial services, and insurance companies. Most of the banks and insurance companies have their APAC regional hubs in Singapore.

Regarding IT positions with these clients, they typically seek experienced resources in production support and application support. Skills required may vary from client to client and across different applications.

For example:

- Citibank often looks for experienced individuals in MF, Vision Plus, Oracle/Pro*C, UNIX, etc.
- Deutsche Bank focuses on Oracle Technologies, PB/Oracle, and messaging tools like Swift/MINT.
- Credit Suisse prioritizes Sybase skills with UNIX, Perl, Java, and gives high preference to candidates with knowledge of the investment banking domain.

The majority of projects revolve around application support and production support systems. Skills in Oracle, legacy systems, DW, etc., are commonly required by most clients.

There are numerous vendors for each client, making it a highly transactional market with a quick response time for submitting CVs to requirements – usually within a day or less. The industry is both competitive and fast-paced.

Regards,

Pavan
