Dear All,

I am currently working in HR and Administration, and my seniors have assigned me the responsibility of overseeing the Housekeeping department, which involves using various chemicals. However, I lack knowledge about the specific chemicals used for housekeeping activities.

Therefore, I kindly request you to provide me with details of the chemicals typically utilized in housekeeping.

I am looking forward to your positive response.

Thanks and Regards,

Are you sure it's about chemicals alone that you would like to know, or just about the whole housekeeping part of it? Our people here just use the wanted cleaners and fresheners. I have not heard them using specific chemicals.

Learn about:

a) Good Hygiene Practices: This will come in real handy as this spells a laid-down standard used by Pharma/food processing industries.

b) NIOSH guidelines: These are very important. For example, using extension cords is a bad housekeeping practice. Therefore, extension cords must not be used beyond 15 days. Another example is the safe storage of chemicals or ventilation (Factories Act refers to that).

If you need help, let me know.

Hi Shivraj,

Johnson Diversey is a leader in chemicals used for cleaning in India. Most of the HK companies and FM companies in India use JD as their vendor. They have various chemicals from R1 to R5 that deal with various surfaces requiring cleaning.

You can check their website; it might be useful. Also, consider visiting this website, which caters to the HK and hospitality industry: [Express Hospitality](http://www.expresshospitality.com).
