I have taken up a new job in Mumbai. The employer is paying me 7,20,000 per annum. There is no breakup for the same. Can you please suggest how I can save tax on this kind of salary structure?

Your tax works out to close to Rs. 124,000 per annum. I have not counted company PF as I do not know if the company pays it. You have the scope to invest Rs. 1 lakh by saving in LIC, etc.
