According to the "MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES DEVELOPMENT ACT, 2006," under sub-section (1) of section 7, a Micro Enterprise is where the investment in plant and machinery does not exceed twenty-five lakh rupees. A Small Enterprise is where the investment in plant and machinery is more than twenty-five lakh rupees but does not exceed five crore rupees. Lastly, a Medium Enterprise is where the investment in plant and machinery is more than five crore rupees but does not exceed ten crore rupees.

I have a further question on this matter. The Act mentions: "Small Enterprise is where the investment in plant and machinery is more than twenty-five lakh rupees but does not exceed five crore rupees." My question is, is this limit of 5 crores for one factory or all factories run under a company name? There is a lot of confusion where some people say this limit is for factories within a district, while others say this limit is factory-wise. Please, can you guide on this?
