A contract worker working in a factory as defined in the Factories Act is also a worker as defined under section 2(l)of that Act. Therefore all the records and registers which are required to be maintained under the Factories Act in respect of a worker directly employed by the Principal employer have to be maintained for the Contract worker also.
Regarding licensing the Authority competent to issue the license under the FActories Act may differe from State to State. Therefore please contact the local labour office or the Commissioner of Labour of your State.
