Recruiting a candidate for your company or for your clients’ company should be a thorough and well managed procedure. But sometimes, you can’t afford the luxury of time as the client wants to hire a person quickly and gives you deadlines or your own boss gives you one. So what should you do in such cases? How can you do quick recruitment without compromising on the quality of recruitment?
Well, it’s simple, just follow these 7 golden rules of quick recruitment and everything will be all right.
1. Use the best portals: Your first step should be to use high quality job portals to assist you. Don’t think of saving money when you need to do a swift recruitment. Do not rely on free ads too. You can use the free ads or portals but place your trust on the most extensive and high quality job portals like Naukri.com, Monster.com, etc.
2. Buy the whole package: Your next step should be to buy the whole package offered at the portal to avoid making mistakes. For example: If you buy a package that only allows you to get the contact information of candidates but does not allow you to download their resume, your recruitment process would be slow as you will have to contact each candidate and ask for his or her latest resume.
3. Make registration easy: If you are recruiting multiple candidates for multiple job openings, you may have created an online registration portal. While creating a registration portal, online or offline, make sure to easy to understand. Most of the candidates may not have the patience for filling long forms and you may lose them. So keep it short and keep it simple.
4. Classify candidates to build a database of prospects: One of the quick recruitment tips that will help you to do all recruitments with swiftness is to build your own candidate database. Here you can keep the information of all the candidates who are not suitable for the current job but may be suited for a job in the future. You can even maintain a personal relationship with some of the prime candidates by sending them a New Year card, etc. This will ensure that whenever you need to find good candidates within a few hours, you will be able to do so without hesitation.
5. Offer referral awards: You should also offer rewards to existing employees to get referrals from them. If you are in a hurry, you can also increase the amount of the reward and get great results. It is a tried and tested method for netting good candidates and you can benefit from it when in a hurry too.
6. Provide quick joining incentives: If you have found the right candidate, you can offer to buy his or her notice period fine to make him or her join your company instantly. If you need the position filled urgently and it’s costing you money, you can even offer a quick joining incentive to the new employee. Believe me when the employee has a fat joining fee, he or she will even learn and perform quicker too.
7. Be Cautious: When you are doing an urgent recruitment you should make the candidate feel important but don't show that you are needy. If the candidate knows that you need him or her a bit too much, he or she may ask for a lot of compensation package which would not be good for your company in the long run.
