Hi,

I am working in company ABC lucknow AND LUCKNOW is my home town. I got offer from a company in NCR region company B.

Company B giving me hike of 50% in my salary.

I have not joined the company B yet.

Actually till now I have not denied any of the company. I am very confused.

In my current company their is no work culture. The company is just trying to make money.

their is no Infra, no life tight schedule to work have to work around 11 hours. thats why I was searching for the job.

And I found the other Orgn with more than 500 employee in company B in NCR region. While my company is in UP capital lucknow.

there are only around 30 employes and I can not see any vision or mission of the company.

But just only benefit for me in the current company is that In hierarchy I am the just second or third person in the receding to their boss.

* Should I leave my home town for 50% incrment(45K)

* If yes to move what dificulties I can face their.

* Lucknow or Delhi which place is better for S/w type of job.

Please Please Please suggest me what to do.

I can not sleep for last two days. I do not have experience to job change.

Thanx.

Hi Deepak,
I would not suggest that you leave the comfort of your home town only for money.
If you cant relate to the new org as you said only 30 people with no vision, then it would not be a good idea.
Search for a stable company in your home town or NCR and then plan your move. Obviously NCR would have numerous opportunities for you in Software field.

Basic rule of thumb - don't cling to your home if you want good career.
Benefits of being in NCR with higher salary are many - better amenities, better life style, more opportunities for kids and so on.
But the question is fundamental - how much value to give to the "comfort of home" while evaluating career options and the answer would vary for everyone. My personal view, a career decision should only be taken based on the money it gives you and the new doors it opens for you. Unless you are nearing retirement and planning for a relaxed fishing-in-the-afternoon kind of lifestyle, proximity to home shouldn't really weigh that much. But that's just my personal view - it may be different for you.

Dear Deepak
I agree with Bodhisutra. Now you have taken a decision to join B Company. Certainly that point of time you must have decided someting. As compare to small company against NCR, I will suggest you should consider B as option.
By using the emotional word "Home Town" you are putting limitations to future career. Certainly you will fetch good fruits with B company.
Only thing you should consider your Current Age and Family backgrounds. By Staying away from from Lucknow, if your family will suffer (this is the only factor which you have not mentioned and I think should affect on your decision) then only should think to stay at Lucknow else go to Delhi.
Cheers. Go Ahead

Dear Mr Deepak
What is in store for you in your home town ??? If you want to see yourself as a successful professional ......you have to take risk and you have to say bye bye to your hometown........Please don't be home sick.......Go for NCR job.....working very nearar to the National Capital will be added some advantage....
Also please note that as long as working hours and work culture is concern.......working hours are not flexible in NCR area also........and work culture ??? we all are responsible to create good or bad work culture.because we are a part of the company....But in a nutshell, at the end of the day ....Money always matters.........and we have to adjust ourself with the working hour and work culture .....So go ahead...

Deepak,
I have seen people ruining their career by leaving their growth opportunity just for the sake of their families, but remember one thing... YOUR FAMILY IS YOUR SUPPORTIVE ASSET and NEVER LET IT BECOME YOUR WEAKNESS, In fact make it as your great SUPPORT. Ultimately, the happiness of your family exists in your growth. Also, one opportunity may invite various new options, so tie on the new shoes and lead your career towards a new height
All the best!

hello,
i have just started my career and i face the same problem like u, because i had to choose between my home(Bhopal) and my career(Mumbai)...this is my personal opinion that every one has to leave their comfort zone either now or then, if you had to take a stand and leave your home do it now, may be you could get better opportunities this time and if you won't go with this opportunities you will regret it every second of your life, you would think "if i had taken that chance, i would have been some where else" don't let it happen, take risk and try it out... you must be thinking what if anything went wrong... don't worry, if you are good at your work, you will work it out in NCR as well.
once my professor told me "you can't make your career sitting at home" thats what i keep in my mind and choose my career over emotions and comfort zone.
but still decision is yours.

Hi Deepak,
Keeping in mind the current situation you are in, it is advisable that you change your job to Delhi.
Sooner or later you have to decide upon such issues. You may refuse this opportunity today due to any reasons but opportunities from NCR will keep knocking your door all life.
So its better you decide right now for yourself and take the plunge.
The earlier you decide the more chance you get for your growth..
