Dear friends,
We plan to felicitate the children of our employees who have displayed outstanding academic performance in their secondary/higher secondary.
As this is the first time we shall be organizing such an event, I would like to have your suggestions as to how best to go about it. also what could be given as a gift/memento???...........will a gift voucher of crossword be a good idea???
We plan to have a small celebration by calling the children alongwith the families, HoDs, Chairman giving a small speech, hi-tea, snaps of the children.
Awaiting your inputs asap.
warm regards,

Hi,
Call all th employees along with their Children.
For best children give momento along with a gift and for all other children give some gift.
Instead of gift vouchers better give some books which the children understand depending on their academic levels.
Make sure that the celebration complete as early as possible else it will be inconvenient for families who has small kids.

Hi Archana .

In our organisatin , v r doing the similar activity as a yearly process .

1. whats your total strength

2. As it is the result time ... Pass info( thru notice board ) to all your

employees - that wards who have secured more than 90 % in

10th and 12th can give their details along with the fotos..

3. screen the applications and select the top --- ( it depends on your

org strategy )

4. top students can be felicitated along with their parents at a small

gettogether --- may be in a tri star hotel -- followed by dinner ( and not

lunch )

5. Rs. 250 worth books(gift) is enough ( last year we hv given

two books - one on PD and other book is Abdul Kalam - Autobio book

6. If your organisation is interested in giving scholarship -- it can be

given those who joined B.E or MBBS alone -- it may be say per year

6000 to the students -

7 . Make sure Certificates of Appreciation shd be given along

with your gifts -- it will add value . Also take fotos of the function

and display at your notice board or in your magazines or journals

Hope the abv Knowledge share vil be useful to u

Rgds

The information given by Mr.Sankar is of high value.
I would like to add some points to that,,
Instead of completing the awards in a day, the same thing can be made memorable lifelong.
The practice of sponsoring the Higher studies(75% Employer + 25% Employer or 60/40 Combination will ensure the child completes higher studies in a peaceful.
If I am not wrong the above procedure can be an indirect way to control attrition,,,

Hi Archana,
Children of employees can be felicitated by either of the following or more:
1. Citation/letter of appreciation/certificate of academic excellence
2. Scholarship/part funding of higher education
3. Memento/award of their interest (set a monetary ceiling)
4. Get-together with parents/co-employees (lunch/dinner/snacks)
5. Gifts of their interest/utility (set a monetary ceiling)
6. Movie tickets/excursion with family, et al
Imaginations could fly thick and high. The intent is to provide public appreciation and thus employee-family recognition with a caring & feel-good factor. Helps in retention, employee engagement, etc.....

Hi friends,
thanx a million for the invaluable inputs. I appreciate it.
btw, we finalized the following:-
- Celebration in the form of high-tea with the CEO/HoDs/the child (coz he's a state rank holder) & his family members along with the HR Team.
- Presenting a Rs. 10,000 gift voucher from Crossword alongwith bouquet to be presented by the CEO.
- Printing his photo in the company newsletter (which is also a recent development).
I just thot, besides seeking your help, I should also share what we finally decided on..... :)
warm regards,
