I wish to pursue online/correspondence MBA/PGDBM.
After taking inputs from some and considering my requirements (dual-specialisation), I think IMT & Amity are the only options (pls correct me). ICFAI, Symbiosis offer single specialisation.
My concern is the ongoing UGC's stand about the DL universities' affiliation, bcoz of that IMT is not taking admissions since January. Amity was once in talks for their affiliation/deemed-status.
I wish to start from July session; ICFAI is a good option but they offer single specialisation and also take the entire fees in advance (their end date is nearing).
Suggestions and inputs are welcomed. Any chances of UGC's approval to IMT soon ?

hey vaibhav,
i dont know anythin about the UGC. but ICFAI offers dual specialization and also it does not take all the money at one time. It has the installment facility. one of my frinds is doin MBA from there.for further detail u can contact me at
Singh.

Hi,
For dual-specialisation first we have to complete the entire program; then we can additionally do the second specialisation, costing 6 more months and fees.
Also, yes they have instalments scheme; but they take all PDCs in advance which if cancelled can lead to case-filations/etc ...
Sugestions are eagerly awaited.

Dear Vaibhav,
i am pursuing IInd Semester MBA from IMT Ghaziabad through Distance Learning. All of our Classes were delayed for One month due to the Ongoing Isuues on DLP Affiliation of IMT.Altough it's affiliated to one of the most Oldest Universities in Begal, but we have clearly been told that our Study Centre wolud not be submitting any more student batches for DLP,but the reason also being problem with MCD,as most of the Study Centres are located in the Residential Areas.
So the whole picture is still a Question Mark.
Rgds,
Monika

Hi everybody
I m doing MBA from ICFAI by Distance Learning. They take lot of money 70,000+ Examination Fees of Rs 1000 per group + Rs 12,000 Tution Fees+ placement + etc... It will cost u above 1 lakh. and its not easy
Their r 11 groups. 4 subjects per group. i.e. total 42+ papers. Its objective. 5 options per question. 3 hour paper. yet its not easy.
choose symbiosis instead. its more reputed. much much easier than icfai, much cheaper (only 30 k including everything). only 24 papers of 1 Hr paper. they give PGDBM degree. yes, but u know IIMs also give PGDBM NOT MBA. But everyone calls it MBA and write same in their CV so it practically MBA.
conclusion: dont go 4 ICFAI mba. its not worth the money & efffort u spend
i m writing all this becoz i took a wrong decision by choosing icfai and i trying to reduce my frustation. u may contact me . 09887794633

3.www.icfai.org : this is ICFAI Website
4. there is also a mba [Distance Learning] by sikkim manipal. it costs around rs 52,000.
they all send free prospectus.
my conclusion: dont go 4 ICFAI mba. its not worth the money & efffort u spend. choose symbiosis instead. yet its course material is good. its good if u want MBA degree with lot of effort.

Dear friendsI am a new guy at this discussionI have been having a real big research on MBA through correspondenceAnd I have discovered the following points1. MBA and PGDBA are 2 different programs which have the same weightage in the eye of the corporates. However, the weightage differs in the eyes of the Indian Education SystemAn MBA is a recognized degree which opens the doors to further qualifications like a Doctorate, etc. A PGDBA does not offer the same. An MBA is a masters degree. However, a PGDBA is merely a professional qualification. An MBA gives you a higher value than a PGDBA. UGC recognised insitutes offer an MBA while the others offer a PGDBA2. MBA is not offered by correspondence for students who have just completed their graduation (except Manipal University and ICFAI University). These are the only two institutes that offer a Masters degree. Others like Symbiosis, NIBM, IMT, Xaviers, Welingkar, etc offer a PGD onlyFurther, open universities like IGNOU, KSOU, etc demand a minimum of 3 years work experience to offer an MBA3. When we do an any course through correspondence, we are doing it to add value to our career and open up the opportunities for life ahead. Thus, an MBA is much deserving qualification than a PGD4. Please do not compare IIMs here. Because, IIMs are autonomous bodies which have huge huge goodwill and repute. If IIMs are offering PGD doesnt mean any institute offering PGD is good5. Of ICFAI and Manipal, Manipal will be a better option as the fees is less. Further, Manipal has also got classes of a minimum of 160 hours. This will add a lot of knowledge tooFor those having a minimum of 3 yaers work experience, IGNOU and KSOU will be good choices6. For those who want to get a promotion in the same organization, Symbiosis will be a better option to add glitter to the resumeI have just completed my BCom and I have almost decided to get started with Manipal UniversityI welcome all suggestions and guidance in this matterPlease discuss more and more so that we can make the right decisionsAfter all, its just once in a lifetime that we do an MBA...Regards...Puneet
