Hi,
I am working as HR Executive with a small firm of about 40 employees in Thane. We are currently planning to outsource our Payroll and documentation process. Kindly suggest if it is advisable for a small firm to outsource their payroll process.

For 40 employees its not advice able to outsource the payroll process.
You just need to work three days in a month if you have maintained all the attendance and leaves in proper manner.
All you need is a Payroll Software ( excel also works well) .

Well, finally its your choice to outsource or not but what I suggest you to go for some advanced HR or Payroll Software like SaralPayroll
It will help you to easily manage HR and Payroll process for your company and it is also very much affordable too and if you go for outsourcing it will cost you a lot more.
So, better to go for an advanced Payroll Software instead of wasting money on outsourcing the tasks. You can go for Saralpayroll i.e an advanced payroll software to manage whole payroll process and HR functions.

Payroll processing is more than an Excel sheet of formulas. (Wish life was so simple!)
You have to follow rules reg. Income Tax, profession Tax, maternity leave, bonus act,etc. etc nearly dozen labour laws.

I think it also depends on the nitty gritty of components and the benefits offered to your employees. Well, i would suggest to keep it internal since the confidentiality of critical data is involved with additional cost.
