Dear Rakesh ji,

The contribution of Provident Fund:

Cealing limit is Rs. 6500/-

Employee Contribution @ 12% on 6500/- = 780/-

Employer Contribution Provident Fund @ 3.67% on 6500/- = 239/-

Employer Contribution Pension Fund @ 8.33% on 6500/- = 541/-

So, the total contribution of Employer Contribution on PF is Rs.780/-

Further clarifications please see the attached PF-CHECKLIST.

PBS KUMAR

Dear Mr. PBS,
Thanks for making PF understanding simple.
But I have one query about the ceiling limit of Rs. 6500/-
If an employee having basic salary Rs. 10000/- then what would be the employee and employer contribution to the PF ?
Employer contribution : Rs. 780/- or 1200/- ?
Employee contribution :Rs. 780/- or 1200/- ?
What I understand Rs.780/- (on 6500/-) is mandatory contribution by both employee and employer and above Rs.788/- (on above 6500/-) is optional both for employee and employer.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks in advance
