hi,
employees are the valuable assets to every organization and they are handle by the hr . machines though work for the company are desireless and emotionless but the human being have both desires and emotions and to manage them is the challenging task . a good HR person only can handle them and get work from them for the growth of an organization as well as growth of an employee.

Dear All,
For me Why HR?
Human Resource is "Management" of the most important resource i.e. Human

Recruitment – how can the company run without having good & competent employees?
Payroll – Working on attendance management, salaries and keeping them confidential
Training –Development of Employees to support the organization to face the competitive edge Training & Development has been one of the key area of reducing attrition
Generalist – Mother of the organization! Taking care of all aspects what is required for the employee.
Welfare Officer – Recreation Programs keeping employees happy and comfortable in their second house i.e. office

Rightly said by one of our friend, HR is the blood which runs energy through it, to all the parts of the body so that they can work together to make the body whole

I am very happy to choose HR as my profession

Best Regards,
Lavena

Ur right Urmila.... Why ask such a question??
Well the recruiter also knows that the candidate must have selected a field because he/she was interested in it ... or probably because he/she had no other choice (meaning no interest in any of the fields...).
The basic purpose of asking why HR or Finance or Marketing is to know how much you can justify your position now that u are already in the field and wish to make a career. Well this question I guess is asked only to freshers (correct me if i'm wrong).... and i have seen many a times that people take up HR coz they find they have less IQ for Finance and Marketing(Sales) is not their cup of tea... Not true for all.... but yes for many..

HR is the backbone of any organization and it portrays the quality of people in the organization. Employees are the Assets of an organization. For proper upkeep of plant, we regularly water, put fertilizers etc. Likewise HR nutrtures the employees by various ways to make them bigger and better in the organization. HR conducts various in-house and external trainings for employees for their skill enhancement, knowledge which in turn results in achievement of organizational objectives. HR is in fact the face of an organization.

Hi,

Question back why not HR? the answer would be just opposite of all reply

I would like to give an example Think a man is standing ona river bed there is a river and he has to cross the river to reach the other side of the river which leads to a road ask him how he would cross the river.

Definitly he would give one of the below answers

1) Swim - pros & cons to swim one must know swiming and its most dangeroust to swim
2) take a boat- There must be a boat in first place and a person to row and agin its not so safe
3) write a pettition to govt to build a bridge etc... - who knows when the bridge will be constructed it might take some time

exactly what iam trying to tell you is HR is like a river which give a potential of bridge being constructed, to sharpen your learning skill like swiming and helps as a liason between employer ans service taker like the boat where people with variopus intention comes together for a single purpose that is to cross a bridge

Finally what i wanted to tell is people ask wh HR same instead of asking which way to cross the river understand you can newer tell why river and then why crossing it same wise no one can question why HR

please excuse if i were wrong...

Hi,
- HR has become one of the critical function in today's organization.
- HR dept was earlier considered as a dept to maintain muster roll, comply statutory
and carryout some welfare activities.
- As a there is a shift from brawn to brain, organizations have realized HR can add
value to the organization.
- Today, every manager who is dealing with people is a HR manager.
- HR dept can facilitate support to other functions
- HR today is viewed as value creation for the organization

Hi Tania...
Simple: Why do u need HR in the Organization??
To make sure other employees (top talent) continue remaining in the Organization.
HR is like the "Lady of the House"
The option cannot be ruled out.
You have a remote or a switch to make a machine work..
In an Organization - HR Dept is required to make people work.
If you neglect your machines - cost increases. It stops working..
Likewise - if you neglect the HR department that clearly focuses on employee issues - people too stop working.
