Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I know that during weekly off if an employee asked to work, S/he'll be paid double the amount of wage. But what if the weekly off and Govt holiday falls on the same day, will the empoyee get triple the wages?

HI If the Govt. Holiday comes on week ends then the same holiday will not be declared on Holiday list. Even if it is listed then he/she will get only double wages.

Dear calyanaramon.s,
In such cases, if the holiday falls in the weekoffs then it is not considered in the holiday list as rightly said by Mr. Jeevarathnamji. Instead another holiday may be proposed to the list.

HI,
If a Govt. Holiday falls on a weekly-off and if any employee is required to work on that day, either he is granted a compensatory off on some other day or paid double wages. There is no question of any triple wages and it is not clear how this funny idea of triple wages would come to any body's mind.

What if s/he asked to do over time on that day, what will be the wage calculation for that time.

Whether one works on Weekly off, Govt. Holiday, National Holiday or Additional hours beyond normal working hours, s/he is eligibie to get only twice of her/his wages. This too applicable only up to certain level / grade of the employees. In some companies, only office boys and lower level / grade employees are eligible for such payment. Higher level Officers are even not eligible for compensatory off.
