Hi Sanjeev,
What you have mentioned is about two pofessions. Do read my question again. My question is can anybody who is doing a job of HR manager or any HR job can run his owm HR consulatancy(a consultancy in any terms like recuritments or policy or HR suggestions anything related to HR).
As per my knowlege this is 100% illegal.
What do you say???????

in this case you can talk to your boss/senior (of hr) and he will directly intervent in this matter.. dont directly spk to person becuz he/she can harm u and take revenge in future..
best wishes

Hi Manish,
I totally agree with you but
What if he publically show this thing and the higher management don't want to quote any thing?
Do u think that we should let these things happen so that the growth path for juniors will become more difficult?

Hi,
On one side we talk about taking corrective action agiant unemployment in India?
And on the other side people like him/her being into senior positions giving a raise to unemployment by doing a job and a business of same profession.
What can be done for this?
Can't we all bring a revolution against it in the industry?
Don't u think it is a big hurdle in our growth?

Deepali,

Frankly speaking practically many of the employees really are either employed / self employed even after normal working hours.

For ex.

A software engineer will sell his software & help others install software prepared by him after normal working hours.

A worker getting less wages will obviously opt for a small grocery / departmental / stationary shop etc.

Practically speaking, nothing can be done about it. One thing which we can do is to take utmost care that the organizational work doesn't hamper due to his personal life. He should be clearly instructed that for his personal benefits he should not

- Take unnecessary leaves

- Change his shift timings

- discuss / communicate with others during normal working hours

- make telephonic discussions during normal working hours.

Being a HR person, we should try to solve the problems many a times by understanding the problems of others. If we try to deal with such type of problem decently, I definitely think that we can work harmoniously.

Doctors can work in a Hospital and can also practice in his own hospital. This is very common.
A judge can also practice law and can be lawyer in some of the cases.
As per Company Law, One person can be Director in 20 different Companies.
Again as per Company Law, One person can be Managing Director of utmost two different companies.
These and many more are cases of people is same profession. :D
Coming to normal Management...ans as Deepali Quoted...in HR Profession. As I mentioned earlier, if the person is using the clients of theCompany for getting more business for his own Company. Like...if an Recruitment Head...is supplying Manpower to the Company from his own Consultancy....then in that case if proved, it is unethical and illegal. If I am having training company and I am supplying my trainers to the company I am working with or to the clients of the company I am working for...then it is unethical and illegal.
Think over it. Think Logically.

Hi

I can seriously not see the issue. In my home country it is very normal that people have another job in their free time (also in the same profession). Of cause it is not right if you use your company position or your information from your company in the other position.

The job marked is not a cero-sum game. By this I mean there is not a specific amount of jobs. Your employee could make work for some other persons through his work outside office.

What I believe the problem here is, is that this is against your company policy and no you can not ignore that. Of cause if your management don't care I would propose to them that you as a company legalize it or give him the right to do it. Anything else would be hypocritical.

And I simply do not agree with you on that you should not tell the person, as he might get back on you. Ok if the management is also supporting him on this I would just keep quite, but if not, this person should know that by you telling him this this could save him from some serious problems!

Kind regards,

Randi

hi,

deepali i also agree with you, but we dont do the practice of changing the situtation just because we get fear, we need a job and we dont want to loose it and things are not in our hand because we fear from loosing our job but you cant do even after you get rid of this fear because when management with him.. so loosing your job and still you have not implemented the change then what is a use of this bold decision.... the same thnig is happening in our country but we cant do that.. we just shift our votes from one party to other party becuase nothing is in our hands becuae we people get fear............................ still continue but we could not do anything..../-

i think u concentrate on your job & doing things for making ur better future. becz this is not your ultimate goal u have to go on peak...

regards & best of luck

manish

p.s:. and dont indulge your self in this case i am not saying just becuz you are a girl but you know the other person one can damage/hurt you just becuz of his prestige.
