I completed my mba in hr in july 2012, . B4 completing my mba I was selected in a public sector bank as a generalist officer. Yesterday I resigned from my post of a po after a service of 14 months to join the same psb as an specialist officer hr. I had to forego my first yearly increment and my unavailed leaves, and my probation wud start agsin despite my joining in the same psb. So I wud like to say that if we want to make our career in HR then we wud have to suffer some minor setbacks but in the long run it won\'t matter if we really want to do it. One more thing I want to say if u r in HR, den u got to make more contacts than any one in ur company, n it wud ultimately benefit u.
What r ur views guys upon my decision?

Hi Savita,
I too agree that you should switch over to HR as the opportunity to get an HR profile is comparatively less than the one you are doing currently. Moreover, you should realize that even with experience as Team Leader in telesales you will never get a lateral entry in HR. More the delay you make in changing your profile, greater will be your competition as more and more MBA HRs will pass out in those years. If any organisation is looking for freshers they will favour fresh passouts than experienced people like you for whom Lewin's theory has to be applied - unfreezing - moving - freezing/refreezing. Hence, grab the opportunity and make a fresh start. All the best!
By the way, pls note the spelling error you have in your upload - carrier is a small vehicle to carry load and what we are discussing is career, pronounced with a k.
Best of luck for your CAREER!

Dear Contributors,
Today business is redefining its exposure continuously.
Plan the career i the similar industry and find the top players in the same industry , the target for a HR person in the same business line, so that we can crawl upto to the opening in the top player organization, once we get an oppurtunity it is to keep the position by doing hard work with the personal skills we have.
A change in the career will prospect if once the difficulties of the same line business top players questions and targets were answered.

Dear Balakrishna ::: ---

After 3.5 yrs if you will step out in field for HR Asst. profile there are chances that you'll get somewhere but chances are very less as you can see our economy is going down day by day. So jobs are not so much. also salary wouldn't be offered good to you. but if you will try to start taking responsibilities in your own organization as you are working here from last 3+ years so you have an image here to handle the responsibilities in a very well manner so they can give you chance to make your carrier in HR field and through admin duties you can start it in your hospital. Later on Employee engagement and so many practices will be there if you'll set a mark with your start in HR. So, talk to your Sr. and as you are secretory of chairman, or moreover you can learn things from HR person to be in touch with him/her, by studies of Asst. roles, articles and other social ways. then later on with the exp. of study and you Sec. exp. you can move to some other org. if present org. is not ready to give you the profile you are looking. so take time, think about it that how easily and quickly you can learn more and more about HR Asst. and then choice will be yours.

I am agree with your point as one obv. will be worry about his future too after 3 yrs of her carrier, but your both profiles are a bit diff. as you are now in HD payroll profile and here you said you can get chance to work on SAP which is very imp. for your carrier growth. so i will advice you to stay for a while and try to get the knowledge of SAP too. because its just 6 months in this present co. and if you'll switch soon then might be you wouldn't get much salary increment in next co. also economy is down so hiring is almost on downside. if one will hire you then you'll not get much from that too. Better option is to learn SAP part because with 6 months exp. in present co. they will not give you any increment in salary. so till April you can learn SAP and when in April if you get any increment then after that you can switch to other one. or if getting good env. and good profile in the same then you can stay. But in the meanwhile you'll learn your SAP part which will surely help you in future.
