Hi Vinisha,
Your disappointment is understandable. Sorry for responding late, I have just joined this forum and I am a fitness enthusiast. I have transformed myself from a 97 Kg to 80 Kg in a year.
I am associated with a company in field of providing Corporate wellness solutions.
Here are some of my inputs based on my experience and understanding
There are no sustained solutions provided.
No scietific proven programs are available, all are adhoc to spend the budget allocated
Corporates still don't want to invest in something which will have results in long term.
Let me know if you need any more clarification / assistance.
Best Regards

Hi Vinisha,

The corporate wellness is existent in India but is in nascent stage. Only few corporates are seriously pursuing it. Reasons are many but I believe that very soon this will become part of every corporate and they have to imbibe the corporate wellness. The key for success of any corporate wellness program is that it should be sustained effort and not one time activity or workshops.
The health insurance costs are going through the roof and the ultimate solution is to move from cure to prevention. There have been enugh studies pointing to the fact that we Indians /Asians are more prone to lifestyle conditions as compared to people of other ethnicity.

Any changes in lifestyle can't be achieved through a one time workshop etc. Wellness can't be achieved overnight and it needs sustained efforts and coaching. There have been enough case studies int he West proving the Benefits,as you have mentioned and have demonstrated an ROI of 1 to 5.

Let me know if you need some more information / assistance.

A well- planned employee wellness programs are really necessary in today’s times where employee engagement and employee wellness is sometimes more important that big cheques.Having employee loyalty towards the organization and nurturing organization culture is really important in growing the business .
Employee wellness program doesn’t need to be as expensive as having an in house gym . Cost effective programs like giving subsidized gym memberships etc or incorporating healthier snack options like oatmeal cookies.
