Hi Friends,
Can anybody guide me to reach my goal.
I am a Secretary in a Ltd., Co. Now i am pursuing MHRM from Pondicherry University. I am very much interested to concentrate in HR duties. In my previous co, I was taking care of Recruitment Process and maintaining employee database.
In order to reach my goal i.e.HR Profession, I must have good knowledge of hr practices. But its very difficult to get HR Executive Position in the companies. Even I dont have chance in the present co.
When I am attending interview, I am not confident to tell the interview about my duties.
Can anyone tell me :
What general duties and responsibilities a HR Person will be performing.
Bye

Hi Sailaja,
Nice to see you here, One of my Friend is also doing Management Degree from Pondi University
This is vast, So In One Sentence if I have to say:
"Recruitment, Selection,Training, Induction of HR, Planing and Development of Healthy Organisational Structure, Minimising HR Turnover, Managing HRIS" This is Theory
What I feel.
HR Department Duty: "To Keep their HR Healthy Wealthy and Wise so that their Organisation can remain FIT"
HR is the most important department of any organisation - Why?
Becuase it deals with Human Beings, and dealing with Humans is most interesting (difficult 8) ) Job, because these Human Beings comes in variety.

Reminds me of a FILM "TUM BIN" where URDU Speaking Funny Character says to a Female Actress "Tasreef Rakhie".
Actress puts her Bag on the chair
He again says "Tasreef Rakhiye"
Actress says "Ek Laye Thi woh Rakh Diya"
