Hi team members, I recently joined a company. There are 11 months of esi not filled, and also, new employees have not been added in previous months. What is the procedure to file returns, and what about the new ips?

Not registering the employees on their dates of entry and non payment of contributions are serious non compliances. When you register employee after ten days of their joining, the system will automatically generate a show cause notice and you have to show what caused delay in registration. You can register them now but for all benefits the date of registration would be treated as date of joining. In order to pay ESI with retrospectively, you will have to show the actual date after replying to the show cause notice. In respect of those who were registered but contribution not paid, you can pay it now but with interest and penal charges.
