Firing someone just because their educational background check didn't pass after a year of working seems a bit harsh. It's better to look at the overall performance and what they bring to the table. If there are concerns about their education, talking to them about it would be more fair.

Making employment decisions based on a broader view helps create a positive work environment and avoids legal issues that can come with sudden firings. Organizations should have clear and open policies for evaluating employees and consider various factors before making decisions that affect someone's job.

Management can terminate an employee if they find that an employee did not meet or falsified prerequisite qualifications. However, management should conduct the document verification before onboarding an employee.

Hi Rohit,
I recommend seeking legal advice to understand the specific circumstances of your friend's termination. It's important to review the employment contract and relevant labour laws to determine the legality of the termination. Consulting with a legal professional can provide clarity on the situation.

Thanks,

Termination is justified, if the documents, information and qualification found false & fabricated.
There are cases of termination, happened after a long period of service. I am citing a real case example, in our office one sr officer terminated after 20 long year of service. We received a letter from one person with some information about the specific officer, that the Graduation letter submitted by the person was not only fake rather printed in a press, where he was working. On receipt of the information, we communicated with the University and college of study. The both the institution informed in writing, that the certificate is Fake because no candidate having the name beared in their Register. On receipt of the letter, disciplinary action initiated and termination happened. Because of his good performance and contribution to the organization, management paid his gratuity.
Your posting lacking of informations to guide. Ask your friend to consult a lawyer, if he considers the termination is vague and improper reason for challenging the matter in court Or labour court.

Employers often conduct background checks, including education verification, as part of the hiring process. If your friend's educational background was found to be misrepresented or false during this verification process, it could potentially be grounds for termination.
