Autumn I dont call it absurd becasue its "charting out a different idea". Look at the end result - if this is practised, to reduce "cost" people will stop even seeking references. becuase you see - that will be a part of the HR cost saving strategy!
And once companies are not interested in paying for reference checks - people would start being more creative on their resumes!
