Dear Sir,
I work in a public sector from 2014. Last week I have submitted my resignation and mentioned that to release me from my duties giving a notice for 20 Days since we have notice period for 3 Months. Now my competent authorities are telling that they are not going to accept my resignation. Can it be possible that the employer can regret/ not accept an employee resignation in public sector enterprises and can a employer can force an employee to serve his complete 3 months notice period after resignation. Kindly suggest. Regards SaketDear Sir, I work in a public sector from 2014. 1 Sir, in my opinion, you may kindly examine the terms and conditions of your employment in said PSU and see the service conditions as made applicable in respect of employees of said PSU.
2. In case, there is provision of any period's notice period, then the same should be complied with by you if your services are regular/permanent in the said PSU.

1. Sir, in public service including services of PSUs, though there is no "bond of service", but the terms and conditions of employment are in the form of Service Rules. Therefore, every thing depend upon the service rules, which are adopted and made applicable by said PSU on its employee. In modern set up of administration, I think, no body will take risk to violate the service rules or terms and conditions of employment to which you must have agreed while joining the services in said PSU. Please see the letter of offer of appointment etc. on the basis of which you joined the said services.

2. Though, in my opinion, no employee can be forced to work in any organisation against his wish, but employee is also required to follow the service rules etc. on the basis of which said employment was joined by you. In case of non-compliance of service rules, and in your case in respect of non-giving notice for minimum period as desired in service conditions, the employer/PSU can decided as may be permissible within said rules.
