Dear Amitmidi
as you said right, the employee, who is covered under ESI in the month of April, after salary revision also (if he gets one lakh rupees increment), he is covered under ESI upto September. because the contribution period is April to September. if you fail to contribute the employee and employer amount, you will get a notice from ESI authorities at the time of inspection of your establishment.

1. If the wages of an employee (excluding remuneration for overtime work) exceeds thewage limit prescribed by the Central Government after April or October for the contribution periods from April to September, and October to March, he continues to be an employee till the end of that contribution period and contribution is to be deducted and paid on the total wages earned by him.
2. In case the wages of an employee is increased from a retrospective date resulting in crossing the wage limit prescribed, its effect on coverage of that employee is only after expiry of the Contribution period
during the currency of which such increase is announced or declared. The contribution on enhanced wages is also payable from the month in which such increase is announced. There is no need to pay the contribution on the arrears for the period prior to the month of declaration/announcement/agreement.

Please note that, once ESI Contribution is paid in the base month of ESI Contribution Period, then the ESI Contribution will be paid for full contribution period. in your case the salary of employee in the month of Jun in Rs. 12000.00 hance you have paid the ESI Contribution upto Jun month. if his salary is increased upto 16000.00. the esi contribution will be paid upto September. he will be exempted from the ESI Contribution in the month of October.
ESIC Contribution Base Months Are : April & October of every year.
Contribution Period are : 1. April to September
2. October to March

Dear Sir,
Please note that no employee can be exemption in mid term. if an employee is already covered under ESI in the first month of Half Yearly Return, he can only be exempted in the next Half Yearly Return.

dear Amitmadi,
ESI contritution is done from your gross salary not from ctc, if your gross exceeds more than 15000 per month then ESI contribution will not be done.
so firstly know what is your ctc, gross and net take salary.
then calculate, your gross is less than 15000 or greater. and Last date of ESI challan is 21 of subsequent month. means salary of July you will get in month of august then ESI contribution will be done with in 21 of august. okay...
