i have a query. Because i am a fresher i have got an assignment for making a salary slip of a employee who has joined late in company i.e on 8th of month so how can i deduct his 7 day salary or how can i show it on salary slip.

Take basic+DA as 60% of CTC, HRA can be from 5% to 60% of CTC as per the town, Coneyance allowance is fixed upto 1600, Special allowance can be treated as city compensatory allowance and divide the rest of amount in City compensatory and other allowances like dressing or mobile or washing etc.
In case of certain industries the special allowance is fixed.
And about calculation you can simply divide his salary by 30 and multiply with no. of days.

Pls. note PF Deductions of Basic + CA =12%.
For. Example a Person Salary is = 15000/- and his working day=30.
Basic = 10500
HRA = 3000
CA = 1500
And his Pf Deduction = Basic + CA =12000 Pf Deduction is 1440/-
I think i was clear. If there is any changes pls. let me know.

HRA : 50% of Basic for metro city's like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. and 40% of CTC for others city's.
Medical Allowance - 1250/- tax exemption
Transport Allowance : Till Rs.800/- (per month) is not taxable
Provident Fund : 12% of basic for employee & employer.
Gratuity : 4.8% of Basic (Employees who worked in an organisation for minimum 5 yrs are eligible for the same)
