Hi All
I personally belive what ever event we try to organize ,the best will be when all the people particpate in it and out of the experience i had only 10-20 % of the people particpating and most of the people feel shy and other people take stay back attitude .so we need to develop any thing that makes everyone particpate and atleast shake they legs or hands or brians together.so create a concept which they have on stage and of the stage events and thereby all the people particpate in the event .give few pre-event online games or quizs where everyone particpate and then bring them on stage to do something.so even some people who are shy will come forward to atleast take prizes and share something .
this are my few generic suggestions

Hi,
You can try the following:
1. Arrange for a puppet show for the kids.
2. Employees can be be asked to enact a 'typical day at office'- This would give an idea to the onlookers , about the valuable contribution all the employees make to the organisation and their families would feel the professional side of their family member, which they would otherwise never see. Try to make the enactment as spontaneous as possible. That would mean no rehersals before the day. This would bring out some joyous and light moments all the employees share while on work. ( Hope it sounds O.K )

Dear Amith,
As you have said you are looking for some quick games in between the other programmes, may be you could try somethings like giving out prizes for the first person who comes with a one rupee note, or some one who has got his/her parents picture in their wallet or some one one with a particular color of handkerchief and so on...
These things would hardly take any time and i think people would enjoy

Amith,
I do not know what it is called, but I feel there is no need of two groups for this.
All you need to do is decide how many prizes you would like to ditrubute and then select that many number of such questions and thats it , you can go on to the stage in between the programmes and announce the questions .

Add in your list some more point like
You may declare best employee Awards, give awards or motivate the chinderen of employee by giving awards for distiction or for more than 70 % a momentos in the present of employees and their family.Organised anti aducting camp like Liquor, smoking and campus like blood doanation.
this will busted the moral of employee and also help to build a long term relation with family.
