Dear All,
Cultural integration is an important HR function. Sometimes it may require legal binding through clauses in appointment letters/agreements. Please donot allow any slippage in this regard as it may lead to larger issues.
Take Care

Wear uniform is an ethic and not an indiscipline/misconduct. If the company provides liveries and supplement it with washing allowance, ethically employee should wear the uniform. The company should keep ready some uniform in the time office. Any body coming to works/office without uniform should be provided with the one in the time office and a reasonable charges should be charged from the employee. This will give him a lesson that company wants business and if he faults, it costs to him.

Wearing a neat and clean well pressed Uniform will have impact on that organisation.
If the person forced to wear uniform means there you cannot expext them to maintain the decorum of the uniform.
If the employee feel pride in wearing the Uniform, then only they can wear well pressed neat and clean Uniform.
You can take the horse to the pond for water, but you cannot make it to drink the water.
I think you can understand what I want to say.

Helo Shruti,i am not very far from the opinion provided by KSGopal, just to add is that before you discipline any employee or regard any act or conduct of the same is wrong, one must ask him/herself whether the act or conduct is illegal according to the Laws, regulations or Policy and Procedures of the company, country or any institution.
