Dear All,
I am working as a corporate HR for an Indian based MNC from past 2 years. I hold an MBA in HRM. I am planning for a full time PhD(outside India) in the area of OB and OD . As a research enthusiast I have done multiple surveys in the nearby industrial area having surveyed 100 samples per project. Its a compulsory requirement for a PhD applicant to have a final topic in mind before applying to any university. Now am finding it difficult to select one final topic for my PhD. Please suggest how I can proceed.

Ramya

Dear Ramya, where would you like to pursue your PhD outside India? You need to first decide where and then see what regulations/criteria you have to meet to register/enrol.
I hope you have studied Research Methodology, when undertaking your MBA degree. Kindly see my presentation on that topic at CiteHR. In order to decide on the topic for your PhD, you need to consider your interest, the gap in the literature where you can add to the knowledge, the work that is being done at the university that you want to enrol, etc.

Dear Sir,
Thanks a lot for your response. Further to this I would like to make my question very particular. As of now I have decided to study in Australia for my PhD. But universities have a requirement that I should have a topic and methodology ready before i apply. I have done multiple surveys on the topics like work life balance, stress management, Work ethics etc. But in order to chose a topic for PhD I thought I will get a guidance from the respective mentor from the university as it happens in India.
Please help me in streamlining a topic.
Regards,
Ramya

Thank you for clarifying some points. First, you need to see what staff at various universities are doing. For example, Dr. Natalie Skinner is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of South Australia. and she is interested in that field. Search Results - work life balance - DORE
