If the member has not disclosed his/her previous EPF account in Form 11, the present employer will generate a new UAN. However, in this situation, the present employer can refuse the member to approve or attest the transfer claim (Form 13) on the ground of submitting false information in Form 11.
Query Regarding UAN in Three Parts
(1) Firstly, please clarify if an employee has been issued a UAN after leaving their previous organization and withdrawing their entire EPF. In such a case, can they apply for a new UAN number?
(2) Consider an employee who, after withdrawing their entire EPF, has a break in employment of 2 years and hence no contribution has been made to EPF.
(3) Finally, if the employee submits their UAN to a future prospective employer, can the new employer access details of their total deductions from the previous company?

1) The UAN concept was introduced in July 2014. Keep all facts in mind to avoid mistakes.
2) If a UAN is already available, it should be provided to the new employer for seeding. Even after withdrawal, the total time period of the previous UAN enhances pension eligibility.
3) No, the present employer can see the old company name and previous ID number of the member with the date of leaving only. Contributions are not visible to anybody except the EPFO department and the member (through UAN passbook).
