I'm trying to transfer PF from my old employer to my current employer. My claim request got rejected stating EPS DOJ-18/11/19 & DOL-30/06/2021, WHEREAS EPS CONTRIBUTIONS NOT REMITTED. CLARIFY THROUGH EMPLOYER. I also raised a grievance request and still got the same response.
At the time of joining, my basic salary was more than 15,000 Rs, so the entire employer contribution went to my PF account, and pension contributions were 0. I don't understand why EPFO rejected the claim stating EPS contributions are not permitted.
Could you please let me know what the next steps to be taken to resolve this issue are?
Thanks.

There is a circular from EPFO No. Actuarial/18(2)2008/Vo.III/7738 dated 29.08.2014 wherein at point no. 8, it is clearly mentioned that EPS will henceforth apply only to EPF members whose salary at the time of becoming a PF member is not more than ₹15,000/-. Unfortunately, many organizations, including Regional PF office employees, are not aware of the circular. Earlier, many organizations had deposited EPS contributions even though the employees were not eligible. Now, the EPFO system will not allow the deposit of the same.
It would be advisable to obtain a copy of the circular, which I have posted 2/3 times at Citehr or from the EPFO site, and present your reasoning for not paying EPS contributions. If you were a member of EPS before joining your last organization, you will be required to continue EPS membership. Only for first-time employment or if you were a previous member of EPFO and withdrew your deposited amount from PF & EPS (if less than 10 years of service) and your salary is more than ₹15,000 at the time of joining, then you are not a member of EPS.

Hi all, I am also facing an issue where my PF got rejected with the reason "EPS not deducted." My employer has submitted the clarification; however, there are no changes reflecting in my PF passbook. I have raised the grievance, and in reply, the PF Grievance team asked me to reapply for PF; however, again, it got rejected with the reason "EPS not deducted." Can anyone help me with this, please?
