The basic objective of any Labour Law is to protect the workmen from injustice and illegal acts of the employer. Whether it is the Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Maternity Benefit Act, ESI Act, Provident Fund Act, Industrial Disputes Act, or others, the objective remains the same: justice for workmen, ensuring welfare, security, health, and well-being of the workmen, providing social security, and establishing a mechanism to settle grievances or disputes of workmen.
