Hi all, My first question is, what is the notice period during probation? Is there any law governing this? My company has stated that I have to serve a 60-day notice period. However, in their documentation, it is also mentioned that "After confirmation, your service is terminable by the company giving one month's notice period or payment in lieu thereof." Does this policy apply to both employees and employers?
Buyback Notice Period
The third question pertains to the buyback notice period. When I inquired, they informed me that there is no such option. However, in my offer letter, it clearly states: "In your request, if the company agrees to relieve you before serving the notice period, you will be liable to pay the company the gross salary of the balance notice period."
Please guide me on the above questions.

Notice period depends mostly on the offer letter/terms of employment. So what you have signed is to be enforced. If there were no terms of employment, then you would need to follow Standing Orders.
It is not necessary to have the same rules for both employer and employee. They can have a shorter period for themselves. Lastly, the part you quoted basically says IF they agree to relieve early, you have to pay. It's not your right. But you should share the full letter if you want proper answers.
