Hi, I need help/guidance! This is Ashwini, and I am working with a private company. I have been recently informed that my performance is not up to the mark, and the company wants to end the contract. I am 3 months pregnant and received a confirmation letter (received on 1st Apr'19) post satisfactory performance during my probation period. So basically, I am a confirmed employee eligible for maternity benefits as per the maternity act.

Now, the interesting thing is my performance issue is being hyped suddenly after intimating about my pregnancy to my manager. All my official email access has been revoked, and I don't have access to all the projects I have worked on. Though HR states I am still intact with the company, the situation doesn't seem so since access is revoked, and no work is given.

I am now in a dilemma about what I should be doing. The worst part is nobody would employ me since I am in my second trimester. Any lawyers, employment rights activists, or HR professionals here, please suggest a solution. I would be highly grateful.

Thank you 

Dear Ashwini,

What has happened to you is quite unfortunate. I recommend you file a complaint with the Labour Officer (LO). Just recently, there was a similar post, and various members, including me, have given our replies.
