Career Journey and Documentation Concerns

I started my career with a small startup organization. I worked there for a year, initially receiving my salary in cash or sometimes by check. After 10 months, they began the proper payslip and PF process. However, I heard that the company closed two years ago. I have the relieving letter, offer letter, and the last two months' payslips from that one-year experience. I lack Form 16 and other documentation.

After leaving that startup, I worked for an MNC for 2.2 years before joining Infosys. Infosys is now requesting my bank statements, Form 16, or PF details as the first company is no longer operational. I don't have Form 16, but I do have PF deductions for the last two months. Will this discrepancy cause any issues with my experience verification given I have the relieving letter for one year but only PF deductions for the last two months?

Considering your situation, it's essential to address the potential discrepancies in your employment verification process. Here are some steps you can take to handle this situation effectively:

1. Consult with HR at Infosys
- Start by explaining your situation to the HR department at Infosys. Provide them with the documentation you have from your previous employment, including the relieving letter, offer letter, and any payslips you possess.

2. Clarify the Missing Documents
- Clearly outline the reasons for not having certain documents like Form 16 and bank statements from your previous employment. Explain the circumstances under which you were paid in cash or lacked proper documentation during your initial tenure.

3. Provide Additional Proof
- Offer to provide any additional proof of your employment at the startup, such as emails, project details, or any other correspondence that can substantiate your work experience there.

4. Explain the PF Discrepancy
- Discuss the situation regarding the PF deductions with Infosys HR. Clarify that while the deductions only reflect the last two months, you do have a PF number associated with your earlier employment.

5. Seek Guidance on Alternative Verification Methods
- Inquire with Infosys HR about alternative methods of verifying your previous employment, especially considering the unique circumstances of the closed startup. They may suggest alternative approaches or additional documentation that could support your case.

6. Be Transparent and Cooperative
- Throughout this process, maintain transparency and cooperation with the HR team. Clear communication and a willingness to provide any relevant information will aid in resolving any potential verification issues.

By following these steps and actively engaging with the HR team at Infosys, you can address the background verification concerns related to your previous employment effectively.
