48 hrs per week is their duty, balance is overtime, as per factory act 1948 they can not work more than 40 hrs OT per week , rate is simply double of the wages payable per hour

Understanding Spread Over Time for Drivers

For drivers, there is something called spread over time. The working hours are not the standard 8 hours as in a factory. A driver will work for a period of 8 hours per day, which can be spread over 10.5 hours. If the person is retained for over 10.5 hours in a day, while having been on duty for less than 8 hours, they are still entitled to overtime beyond the 10.5 hours. However, if they have worked, say, 9 hours without spreading over 10.5 hours in the day, then their overtime starts ticking the moment their 8 working hours are completed.
