Police Verification/Background Check

Hello, two years ago, I accidentally trespassed into a house in an inebriated state. It was an accident as all the houses in the area looked exactly the same, and since I was drunk, the occupants, who were bachelors, mistook me for an intruder and started beating me until my friends intervened. Although everything calmed down, I lost my temper and confronted them for beating me (I merely shouted at them and asked them to lodge a police complaint; yes, I acknowledge my mistake). Consequently, they filed a complaint with the police.

The police took me to the station and reprimanded me for my irresponsible behavior. Following that, I was unsure of the subsequent events as the occupants wrote something on a document, and I was fined $1500 in court. After spending about an hour at the police station, I was released, and the next day, I paid the fine as directed by the court. The police reassured me that it was a minor offense and nothing to be overly concerned about.

Currently, I am not employed and am preparing for government competitive exams. The incident occurred in Chennai, whereas I now reside in Hyderabad. The police station where I was taken was not in the vicinity of my former residence in Chennai.

Sir, my question is: I am uncertain if an FIR was lodged; all I recall is the homeowners jotting something on a white piece of paper. The police at the court mentioned that this was a minor offense akin to a traffic violation and that I should not be overly worried. However, I am now feeling anxious about it.

If I were to secure a government job or any other employment opportunity, could this incident jeopardize my career and future? Will I be perceived as a criminal on par with someone incarcerated?

Thank you

Background Verification Concerns

Two years ago, a minor case involving indecent words and public nuisance was filed against me. It was resolved the next day with a 50 rupee fine in court. I am concerned about whether this will affect my background verification for an IT position. I am really anxious about this. Could you please clarify?
