Dear seniors, I have joined as an HR executive this month in a small IT company where I have nobody to guide me as I am a fresher. I want your guidance in recruitment. The company does not allow me to use paid portals. I have used free portals and classifieds, but the results are not up to the mark. The company wants more candidates to walk in. What are the ways that I could use to meet this? Looking forward to your replies.

Hi Ambika, please take profiles from free portals and send SMS to them. Call every contact and try to obtain at least five references from each contact. This will help you create your own database, and you will start receiving more profiles through referrals.

Hi Ambika, welcome to the circle of employed personnel. In Cite HR, you can find a section titled TECHNIQUES AND RESOURCES FOR RECRUITING. As you browse through, you can get a lot of contacts, and it will be a good beginning in addition to the reply received as above from Shubham.

This is the biggest challenge I've seen HR professionals facing nowadays. Companies neither hire a consultant nor take any help from paid portals, which can be a frustrating part for HR since hiring becomes a significant challenge with no way to find the required candidates.
Free Resources for Recruitment
These are the free resources:
Classifieds:
- Indeed
- Click.in
- Clickjobs
- Gigajob
- Quikr
- OLX
Social sites:
- Facebook: Post in groups or create your own. You can add as many groups as you want and post your requirements. 500+
- Twitter: It may be difficult to approach local, mid, and junior-level candidates. Sometimes, it can be helpful. Use the right hashtags.
- LinkedIn: Post in groups, make direct contacts, grow your network, send requests, and then download the Excel sheet containing email addresses and designations at once. It will help you out. Connect with relevant individuals to make your network valuable.
Happy Hiring! Let me know if there are any further issues.
Thanks,

The very fact that your company does not allow you to use paid portals can be understood as an indication that it is a small company with limited resources to allocate towards recruitment and selection. To provide you with advice, one would need to know the job description for which you are looking for candidates to apply.
