What is Human Resource Management?
HRM is the process of bringing people and organizations together so that the goals of each are met.

What do you prefer, recruitment or selection?
Recruitment and selection are both important because recruitment is the process of searching for candidates and related information, while selection is the final process of choosing the best suitable candidates and rejecting others.

How do you motivate your employees?
To motivate employees, three things are a must:
1. Good salary, incentives, and the right promotion.
2. A good environment within the organization.
3. Appreciation of good work and good supervision.

What is more important to you, money or position?
Money and position are both very important for a successful person because if you have a position, money is possible.

How do you define empowerment?
Empowerment is the giving or delegation of power or authority, giving ability, enablement, and permission.

How can you make use of IT in HRM?
IT in HR is very useful because it is a method by which an organization collects, analyzes, and reports information about people and jobs and prepares forms and formats.

Suggest a training program/workshop for feedback skills?
It mainly depends on the training topics and the type of questionnaire used.

Why do you think HRM is important?
HRM is very important for:
1. Providing maximum opportunities for personal development.
2. Improving employees' working skills and capacity.
3. Maintaining the balance between the jobs available and job seekers according to qualifications and needs.
4. Effectively utilizing available human resources.
5. Providing a healthy relationship between different groups.

What are retention strategies?
Retention strategies include providing training programs, growth, development, engagement activities, and role changes.

What do you mean by 360° feedback?
360° feedback involves the appraiser determining what is more important and less important, preparing reports, and making judgments without bias. Typical appraisers include supervisors, peers, subordinates, employees themselves, users of service, and consultants. Performance appraisal from all these parties is called 360° appraisal.

Which one is better: mentoring or coaching?
Coaching is specific and short-term, while mentoring is long-term and general. Both are important, depending on the situation.

How would you terminate an employee who is not performing?
It depends; either you ask the employee or give some warnings.

What is the difference between personnel management and human resource management?
HRM is a broader term than personnel management; it is a part of HRM that takes care of salary, PF, ESI, and legal issues. The key relationship of personnel management is with labor management, while HRM relates to all aspects.

What aspect of supervision do you find most difficult?
Supervision depends on the nature of work and the nature of employees. It may have negative and positive aspects.

What are the competitive challenges in Human Resource Management?
1. Managing changes.
2. Controlling costs.
3. Controlling and measuring results and feedback.
4. Communication patterns.

Good Evening All! Thanks a lot to all of you for your help, but I want to share my interview experience of that day and my disappointment during the same, and also seek your suggestion.

Interview Experience as an HR Recruiter Coordinator

That day, my interview was for the job of HR recruiter coordinator at a consultancy. But after looking at my resume, the interviewer asked me, "Do you have any experience in HR before?" I replied that I have no experience in HR, but I have a total of three years of experience at Vodafone store as a customer services executive and one year of experience at LIC Housing Finance Ltd. Upon hearing this, he said, "You are quite fresh in HR, and recruitment is a vast area. We will have to teach you like a kid as we teach a kid ABC in the beginning," and then he just gave an excuse that he would confirm with me later after discussing with my director. He didn't even ask me any questions regarding HR.

I was totally disappointed that day because if a consultancy could not give me the chance to enter my desired field, then how can I ever make my career in HR? Everywhere I will be considered a fresher, and nobody will consider me eligible to work as HR. I will be a fresher forever in this way, and my other work experience will be of no use and totally worthless. I request all my respected seniors to kindly suggest how I can enter this field because I have a strong desire and determination to work in HR but am not getting any chance to show my caliber and skills for the same.
