Can a company terminate his 16 years service employee on false base of poor performance????

Company cannot directly terminate an employee for poor performance after serving for 16 years. They have to issue a show cause notice and seek an explanation. Thereafter, in the absence of willingness to perform, only then can the company take the drastic step of termination after completing all the necessary procedures.
