Hi, I am currently working in Coimbatore, but my Headquarters (HO) is in Chennai. They created a PF account for me in Chennai. If I join another company locally, can I continue using the same PF account in Coimbatore?

Hi Priya, if you change the company, you are not given the same PF account number, but you can transfer your PF contribution to the new PF account, which is opened by your new company. You have two ways to proceed:
1. You have to claim your PF contribution by submitting Form 10C and Form 19. Then the amount will be transferred to the given bank account number.
2. If you don't want to claim, you have to transfer your PF contribution by submitting Form 13A in the present (Changed/New) company. The new company will get a Nomination/Declaration form from you and will assign you a new PF account number. Then, you need to submit Form 13A to transfer your old PF amount to the new PF account number.
