Dear Seniors, This is regarding the resignation email that I sent to my manager on May 25th, specifying that I will work until June 30th, serving a notice period of 30 days. It has been 7 days since I emailed him, and I have not received any reply to it.

How to Follow Up on a Resignation Email

How should my follow-up email to the resignation be? Can you please suggest?

Thank you.

Regards.

Hello sravani23, Did you discuss or at least inform your manager verbally before emailing your resignation? Emailing is supposed to be a form of formalizing what's been known—just to put it into the records. Unless you have had a disagreement with him and just don't want to see his/her face. If you emailed it directly, then you are indirectly conveying to him: Take it or leave it.

Addressing Your Query

Pick up the phone and ask for time to discuss the issue. If he dodges, then persist a few times/days. If that doesn't change the situation, then consult HR—hope you have marked a cc: to HR.

Regards, TS
