As an HR professional, you should ensure the proper handling of an employee who resigns. If an employee leaves without giving any prior notice, once you confirm their departure or absence without notification, you must send a notice to their last known address requesting an explanation. If there is no response by the specified deadline, you should send a second notice via registered post. If there is still no reply, you should send a letter informing them that their name has been removed from the company's records due to the lack of response to previous communication.

Hi, I was working in a private limited company. I was selected and appointed as a cashier on a probationary period for six months but was given the duties of delivery of currency for which I had to roam from here and there with a large amount of currency. I was not even covered under insurance for doing this job. I was not permanent, and I left the job without intimation after the completion of six months. Now, my boss has sent me a registered letter and said that I have to pay one month's salary to them. So please tell me, do I have to "sign" on the registered letter or not? Even they did not mention in the appointment letter that I have to pay one month's salary if I leave the job without intimation. Please reply to my email ID, i.e., mak_0410@yahoo.com.
