Hello,

My husband resigned from his previous job and is presently working abroad for the past 2 years. He did not withdraw his PF amount at that time. Is it possible to withdraw now (while abroad) and will we receive interest on the PF amount?

Thanks,
Sara

Yes, it is possible to withdraw the PF now. Collect Form 19 and Form 10 C duly signed by him and get it attested either by his previous employer or by the Bank Manager (where his account is maintained) and submit it to the Employees Provident Fund Organisation's Office. If the PF account remains unclaimed, interest may not accrue (I doubt so), but interest up to the date of resignation shall certainly be paid.

If you want to withdraw it now, make a request for withdrawal immediately because if an account remains unclaimed for more than three years, it becomes difficult to retrieve and is possible only after giving an affidavit.
