Hi All,
I've been selected as an HR Coordinator in a small IT company and am going to join very soon. I would request all the seniors and experts here to advise me about HR Coordinator's roles and responsibilities. I have worked only as a Senior Recruiter for about 2 years, but I'm new to the generalist profile.
Please help me with the do's and don'ts in my new role.
Thanks and Regards,
Deepak

Hi Deepak,
Congratulations on your new job! As you are about to start in the new profile "Generalist," you need to understand what a "Generalist Profile" entails.
This profile involves nearly every activity related to post-recruitment and pre-recruitment. Firstly, you need to grasp your company's criteria for hiring. For instance, if it's an IT firm, you should know the experience they seek, the technologies involved, and more. I assume I don't need to explain this part as you have good experience in recruitment! 😛🌟🌟
Next, when it comes to joining, you have to handle all the paperwork, including issues like the joining letter, appointment letter, and employment agreement (as most companies follow a one-year agreement). You also need to inform new joiners about company policies and procedures (HR policies), allocate workstations and teams, issue stationery and ID cards, assist with bank formalities and PF forms if applicable, introduce new joiners to team members, enroll them in attendance and salary systems, manage their leave status, address any arising issues, and handle exit formalities (which involve exit interviews, issuing relieving letters, no dues letters, and experience letters).
Apart from these responsibilities, you also need to manage timesheets if your company uses them, organize motivational programs, provide training, and plan extra activities like parties, outings, and get-togethers.
I hope this information proves helpful to you! 🌟🌟

Hi,
Congrats!
I would suggest, please try to understand the purpose of the company hiring you. What exactly do "THEY" expect from you? After that, prioritize your work and execute accordingly.
Get the purpose of your role clear, and then you could also seek help under each area on what you can contribute. Sometimes, we tend to go a bit out of our way and do more, which may make the employer feel that you are not doing what is assigned and you are lacking direction. I hope you got the message!
Good luck!
